Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette review

Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette ($40) is a new, limited edition palette featuring five shades of Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed that are meant to be used on eyes or face which launched with the Becca Holiday 2019 Collection. The focal point of the palette is on Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop which is a soft gold with pinky-peach pearls. It happens to be one of Becca’s best loved and bestselling shades. It’s also the largest shade in the palette weighing in at 0.15 oz (the other shades are half that size at 0.07 oz).

I purchased this during an early access preview from Ulta but as of now it’s available at both Ulta and Sephora for everyone!

I’m not a huge highlighter fan as you know but I do love Becca’s highlighters. I particularly like when they do highlighter and blush palettes like last year’s Holiday 2018 Apres Ski Glow Face Palette. I just feel like I get the most use out of palettes from Becca that also includes blush shades. That being said, the Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette does contain one shade that they dubbed a highlighter but it is more of a blush which is Berry that’s a rich, warm berry shade with a golden sheen. I do however, wish there were blush shades in the palette as I just like an even balance of highlighters and blushes because I feel I’d get more use out of the palette.

None the less, if you’re a huge highlighter fan there’s no doubt Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette will be one you’ll want to snag!

Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette arrives in a cardboard compact featuring a bubble design filled with glitter and display Becca’s logo. It’s a pretty presentation but it isn’t as heavy some Becca’a past palettes which weren’t made of cardboard

The palette holds five highlighters with Champagne Pop being the biggest at 0.15 oz the others are 0.07 oz. That gets you 0.43 oz of product. Considering Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter is 0.28 oz at $38 you are getting a bit more product for an extra $2 as this palette is $40 for 0.15 oz more than a full-size highlighter. Not to mention you are getting a bit more variety of shades for that $2 extra. So, the question would be would you rather spend $38 for a 0.28 oz highlighter or spend an extra $2 and get 0.43 of product and more shades for your money!

Speaking of shades…!

Let’s chat about those.

Champagne Pop is the focus of the palette. Since it’s introduction it’s become a cult-favorite shade that most everyone owns already. As I mentioned above it’s the biggest shade in the palette. You also get four other shades that I can’t say I’ve heard of before but may have been available at some point as a limited run or within another palette.

Those shades are:

  • Pink Crème (dusty rose with golden pearls)
  • Truffle (warm bronze with golden pearls)
  • Caramel (toffee with subtle, golden pearls)
  • Berry (mulberry with subtle, pink pearls)

I think one of the best things about this palette or any Becca palette is they never skim on the formula. Nothing ever gets cheapened up and all shades that make an appearance in palettes are as consistent as the full-sizes formula wise. What you get in a palette is just as good as if you’d buy a full-size of these shades.

The formula on the highlighters is soft, creamy, and pigmented with an excellent wear of eight plus hours. They are super easy to blend, never adhere to drier areas, and wear well for hours on end giving my face a lovely, lasting luminous glow. I never feel like these accentuate less than smooth skin and they always blend to a super smooth finish.

The shades all double up as eyeshadow should you like which is the way I’m wearing them in my pink look. I used Berry on my cheeks and on my eyes along with Pink Creme to accent and contrast. For my other look I used Berry and Champagne Pop mixed together to create a warm glow. Berry acts easily as a blush and eyeshadow but I think it might be too dark as a highlighter.

All in all, the Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette is a palette that should be a great pick up for those that like to glow!

Where to buy

Sephora Ulta Beautylish

Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette is a new five pan palette that contains five different shades of Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed. The palette’s focus is on a larger pan of Champagne Pop (0.15 oz) with the other four shades being 0.07 oz each. It’s a great value as you get more variety and a bit more product for $2 compared to purchasing a single highlighter at $38 (this is $40). I thought all five shades performed flawlessly. They have a soft, velvety texture that applies easily and blends to a smooth finish without accentuating drier areas on my face. They have very minimal kick up as well and wear for a solid eight or more hours. The glow isn’t quick to fade which I loved!

Pros

  • Beautifully packaged.
  • Gorgeous shade range.
  • Great formula with a long-wear!
  • Excellent value for the money!

Cons

  • Could use more blush shades.

Who

Becca Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette will be a very appealing pick for those that adore a good glow!
