Wet n Wild MegaGlo Blushlighter Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Blushlighter ($6.49) is starting to hit the drugstore scene! I picked up two shades recently at Harmons and was pleasantly surprised to find them there since Wet n Wild, like most brands, has started migrating a lot of their seasonal and new releases onto their website directly. I mean, it can take several weeks or even months before a new item to launch in stores once Wet n Wild launches it on their website! It was nice seeing a few new displays pop up at Harmons.

I picked these up because I do so love a blush highlighter hybrid and Wet n Wild has proved they can do one very well when they launched those awesome Flights of Fancy Color Icon Baked Blushes for Spring 2018.

Wet n Wild launched these in three shade selections and each is a split pan much like those brilliant Becca Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duos that launched a few years ago (that they really should revisit and relaunch in new shades in my humble opinion). One side holds a shimmering blush and the other side contains a highlighter. You can sweep the two shades together or use them individually to create a pretty glow on your face.

These come housed in Wet n Wild’s standard black plastic packaging and set me back $5 bucks but are listed as $6.49 on Wet n Wild’s website and each is 0.35 oz in size. They are Made in China but are cruelty-free and not tested on animals.

I picked up After Sex Glow which contains a champagne gold highlighter and a light peach blush and Flash Me which contains a deeper beige highlighter and warm raspberry blush. The texture is very soft and powdery but not chalky nor draw! I found myself tapping excess off my brush before application as no matter how lightly you sweep across the shades you still get a lot of powder. They apply and blend very well on my skin without clinging to drier areas. The finish was smooth with a refreshing and gorgeous glow.

I was disappointed in After Sex Glow which I felt gave me more of a glow versus any color. The blush was sheerer on my skin tone and acted more like a highlighter. I had no such issues with Flash Me. The blush was quite pigmented and when blended with the highlighter created a nice luminous flush on my cheeks. Both shades produced a lasting glow that wore for six hours before showing signs of fading. They both had a very smooth, seamless finish with an intense glow so a little goes go a long way. You can easily use the highlighter shades on your eyes as well should you like.

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Blushlighter didn’t give me the same magic I experienced with the Flights of Fancy Color Icon Baked Blushes but they were a nice little blusher and highlighter duo. I do wish the shade range was a bit better because I can see myself raving these much more if they had some lovely golden corals, peaches, or even some pinks to offer. I don’t think these are a head to the drugstore immediately to purchase item but if you see them in passing or on sale you might want to snag one to try out if you’re a highlighter fan.
